I would be very grateful if you would support my walk for Pawmetto Lifeline’s big fundraising event, Bark Around Your Block! I will be walking with my Layla, who first came to me as a homeless foster with three nursing puppies. And we will be virtually joining with Paws For A Cause team members in “distanced” neighborhood walks throughout the Columbia area. Layla is a veteran of several past Bark to the Park annual fundraisers and last year’s Bark Around Your Block, and she joins me in the hope that you can contribute towards our big walk on April 24!
Working with the staff and volunteers at Pawmetto Lifeline and helping with its mission of “giving homeless pets a new lease on life” has been one of the most wonderful and rewarding experiences of my life! I first started volunteering with Pawmetto in 2012 when I fostered 2 puppies And one, Ava, became my first “foster fortune” when I adopted her. Since then I have volunteered with many programs, including Canine Care and HEART, which has been so important in finding rescues for thousands of homeless dogs. I got involved in the Foster Program in its very early days, and was named Foster of the Year in 2015. That year, was also my first Bark to the Park, where I was captain or co-captain of the Fabulous Fosters team for several years. Back at home, I live with my four-legged family – the dogs: Daisy, Maggie, Hickory, and Layla – and the cats: Gumbie and Petey, who also came to me as a foster. If you’ve read this far, I’ll bet you share my love of animals – and here is a way you can help the unfortunate ones by supporting my walk and Pawmetto Lifeline!
