Pawmetto Lifeline holds a VERY special place in my heart. I adopted my sweet, sassy Marley in February of 2008 from Project Pet (now known as Pawmetto Lifeline). I graduated from college in 2006, started my career, and was officially adulting in the "real world". I was ready to have a furry companion to call my own. There was a pet adoption event at a local PetSmart. I went not exactly sure what type of dog I was looking for. As I was looking around at all of the dogs for adoption, a friend spotted a cute little reddish brown puppy and said I just had to come and see it. I walked over to the crate and saw the cutest little puppy ever. I asked one of the adoption volunteers if I could hold her. I held her in my arms and she immediately put both of her front paws around my neck and hugged me. I was smitten. She came home with me that day and I named her Marley. The rest is history. She was THE most loyal companion I could have ever asked for. She showed me true unconditional love. We shared some of the best adventures and made memories that will last forever. On March 16, 2020, Marley gained her angel wings. I was blessed to have her in my life for twelve wonderful years, even though it could never be long enough. She loved hard and was loved by so many, quirks and all. She was my spoiled rotten baby, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. To celebrate my upcoming birthday and to honor my precious Marley, I am participating in Pawmetto Lifeline's "Bark Around Your Block". Pawmetto Lifeline is a not for profit animal rescue organization located in Columbia, SC. Their mission is to solve pet overpopulation in the Midlands by establishing a no-kill community, meaning no healthy, adoptable dog or cat dies because it is homeless. They focus on adoption, medical, rescue collaboration, and education. I will forever be grateful to Pawmetto Lifeline for bringing me and my Marley together. I encourage you to join the Bark Around your Block 2021 walk with me or to donate to such a wonderful organization!
